Looking down at towpath from Old Rt. 82 bridge
Our first day on the towpath trail project. Weather is cold with light snow off and on. We decided to go to Dover, the southernmost tip of the towpath at this point. We chose to stop off in Zoar on the way. We did see a beautiful bridge over the towpath in Zoar, but did not brave the ice-covered stairs that led down to the actual towpath. We took some photos, but later agreed that they looked sepia-toned. We then headed to Dover, but just drove around and around, unable to find the trailhead, if indeed there is one. We asked a sheriff where the towpath was, and he directed us to a park in Zoar, where we stopped on the way back. It was just a few hundred yards from the bridge we had been on earlier, but we did not venture into the park because of the weather and the lateness of the hour. At least we got to see firsthand some of the areas we had seen on the map.

A new year begins
A year to spend on the trail
No hiding inside!
