Tonight we went to the trailhead across the street from Lake Lucerne. We walked north towards Clinton. We saw some new types of wildflowers and spent quite a while photographing a red-bellied woodpecker going in and out of its tree- cavity nest. We did not see any other birds or eggs, but we could see that the crevice in the tree was fairly deep.
After leaving this area, we stopped in Clinton and walked towards the pond, watching several Canada Goose families carry on their early evening activities.
