Today we welcome a new month on the trail!
Although we had stopped at the Harvard Avenue trailhead a couple weeks ago, we hadn't really spent any serious time here since February 15.  Quite needless to say, the landscape had changed dramatically.  Butterflies were everywhere, thanks to the abundance of wildflowers.  I also saw a hummingbird, but between my being too far away and its rather quick movements, didn't get a very good shot.  The thistle is bringing the beautiful goldfinches.  We walked up a hill to an outlook, from where we had taken photos in February.  Except for one little opening in the trees, the trail - which was perfectly visible in February, was now all but hidden by the foliage.  The amazing, dramatic differences that the seasons bring is one of the highlights of following the trail throughout the year.
