Railroad bridge August 1
We parked near thee Mustill Store in Akron.  We walked about a quarter mile north, then turned around and crossed the street.  We walked south towards downtown Akron.  What a difference since our first trip here.  Instead of bare trees and snowy ground, we saw lush foliage, wildflowers, and butterflies.  This is an area where there were multiple locks at one time, but many have been damaged or destroyed, some ruined to build the rather questionably valuable Route 59.   Kay noticed some turtles in the water, sunning on rocks; the turtles had smooth, dark shells and were unlike any we had seen before.  It was getting late and was still quite warm, so we turned around just past the Beech Street turnoff.
